Seasonal Moving
Minnesota is a four seasons state, therefore we thought it would be a good idea to compare moving during each season Minnesota is affected by.
Summer
It’s the most popular time for Americans to move
The goal is to keep cool
- Drink Water and stay hydrated.
- Dress Right. Avoid flip-flops and jewelry. Dress cool.
- Keep Perishables Cool. Don’t refreeze defrosted products.
- Pack fans and A/C last, unpack first.
Fall
Most popular time for college moves
- Keep on top of temperature changes.
- Find out what your new residency provides. Dishwasher? Does laundry cost?
- Be aware of the rules. What can and can’t you bring?
Winter
Often provides the cheapest rates
- Bundle up, pack warm clothes last, unpack first.
- Take precautions with cold sensitive items.
- Be careful with slippery roads, steps etc., bring shovel and salt.
Spring
Rainiest Season makes for tricky move
- Keep an eye on the forecast, humidity et.
- Keep furniture covered and untreated furniture as waterproof as possible.
- Use inexpensive plastic slip covers.
- Protect wood floors from mud and water.
